Gladstone

Commonly known as the twin boroughs: Peapack-Gladstone and home of the USET

A Victorian in Gladstone

Gladstone is a combination of two villages: Peapack and Gladstone.  Known as the "Twin Boroughs" they share services but have two separate zip codes. There are two postal offices, two railroad stations, but one fire station, one library and one police department.

Gladstone most famously is the home to the United States Equestrian Team and Hamilton Farms Gold Club.  Here, horses train for the Olympics and feature the annual U.S. Dressage Festival of Champions- a four day event showcasing horsemanship including driving, show jumping and dressage- hosted every June.

The downtown is picturesque and quaint. Many homes surrounding Liberty Park Pond feature Victorians, charming cottages classic capes and colonials- all displaying well-tended green lawns and lovely flower beds.  Concerts, parades and fireworks are featured annually-making a meander through town a must on a sunny weekend.

Hamilton Farm is on of America's Premier Golf Clubs- situated on an elegant historic country estate, it features two skilled 18 hole courses- The Highlands and the Hickory course, a 3 par men's/ladies challenge as well as "The Mansion" a Georgian converted estate home offering 10 elegantly appointed guest suits.

Natirar is a 500 acre park owned by Somerset County and used for running, walking, jogging; command the most spectacular views of the area and of the Raritan River.  Here, the famous 90 Acres restaurant is situated along with cooking and wine tasting schools.

Children attend the Somerset Hills Regional School District, located in Bernardsville.   Gill St. Bernards's School is a private, co-educational school serving all the grades:  Pre- K through 12th grade.  The Willow School is an independent Pre-school - 8th grade day school with an emphasis on environmental sustainability.

Rockaby Valley Park, Willowwood Arboretum, and the Gladstone Tavern are also special features of the marvelous town.  Not to be missed in Peapack is CocoLuxe fine pastries shop where locals meet over a cup of  velvety hot chocolate or the outdoor cafe of Cafe Azzuro for a northern Italian lunch or dinner treat offering a sense of healthy and balanced portions in season.  Come and be charmed!

Please contact me about homes in the area-and how I can help make this the best experience ever in Living among the Blue Hills of Somerset County.
