Bernardsville

Small town ambiance- quiet and reflective: ranked in "Bloomberg's Riches Places" among the 100 richest in the United States

Bernardsville is a small town (with a population of about 7700) enjoys a small-town ambiance and is located just south of Morristown. Originally part of Bernards Township the area is known for its sprawling estates, historical mansions, and picturesque views toward NYC.  The Gladstone branch of the railroad system offers an easy commute into New York which contributed to the growth and development in the town.  Architectural styles vary which include: colonials, farmhouses, cottages, manor homes, and many capes and Victorians. On any given day you may find cyclists and runners enjoying the openness of the country roads. About an hour's drive from NYC you will find both nature and history to explore: Sherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary, The Cross Estate Gardens, the Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge, and Peony's Envy. Wightman's Farm is frequented for your weekly stop for fresh produce, homemade pies, and baked goods as well as special events at Halloween and Thanksgiving.  A must-visit. On Saturdays during the summer enjoy a Farmer's Market display at the train station complete with garden vegetables, meats, cheeses, and specialties from our local farms- all compliments of your GARDEN STATE!

The Somerset Hills Regional Hills School district serves not only Bernardsville students, but students from Far Hills, Bedminster and Peapack-Gladstone at the high school level.

Come stay at the elegant Bernards Inn and enjoy a wonderful dinner, piano entertainment and just walk across the street to the Bernardsville Train Station and board the train for a great New York Broadway show!  It's all here in Bernardsville!
