There are quite a few apple orchards in New Jersey showing off its Springtime appeal. And nothing perks up our communities as much as seeing the apple blossoms every spring.  When they are in full bloom —acres of trees with delicate pink flowers remind us once again of all the possibilities that spring brings. Live life, and enjoy the bounty of blooms!

 

Where to go in our fine state to see the pinkHere are some of the best places to see cherry blossoms in New Jersey:

 

Branch Brook Park, Newark
One of the best places to experience the cherry blossoms in New Jersey is Branch Brook Park in Newark. With over 5,000 cherry blossom trees, it’s the largest collection in the United States.

 

 Essex County Presby Memorial Garden, Montclair
This garden has over 100 cherry blossom trees, and the Cherry Blossom Festival is held here every spring. Presby Memorial Iris Gardens, situated in Upper Montclair, Essex County, New Jersey, boasts a magnificent collection of cherry trees, irises, peonies, and other flowers. This garden is renowned for its stunning iris and cherry blossom displays, creating an awe-inspiring sight for visitors. The blooming cherry trees line the pathways, offering a picturesque view of the gardens.  Your camera will love you!

Cooper River Park, Pennsauken
Cooper River Park is a magnificent destination that showcases a distinctive collection of cherry trees, gifted to the park by Japan in 1974. The park spans 346 acres, offering visitors an array of amenities.

Rutgers Gardens, New Brunswick
Rutgers Gardens, situated in New Brunswick, New Jersey, is a botanical garden that is home to a stunning collection of cherry blossom trees. The garden boasts over 200 cherry blossom trees, including several varieties such as Yoshino, Kwanzan, and Weeping Cherry. The blossoms bloom typically in late April, creating a spectacular sight that attracts visitors from near and far.  Pinks, galore!

 

Hurd Park, Dover
Hurd Park, located in Dover, New Jersey, is a hidden gem that boasts a beautiful collection of cherry blossom trees. (and who doesn’t LOVE a hidden gem?) The park features a serene pond and several walking paths that are lined with cherry blossom trees. The blossoms typically bloom in late April, providing visitors with a mesmerizing display of pink and white flowers. The park is an excellent spot for a leisurely stroll or a picnic under the blooming cherry trees.

Frelinghuysen Arboretum, Morristown
Frelinghuysen Arboretum, located in Morris Township, New Jersey, is another fantastic place to witness the enchanting beauty of cherry blossoms in the spring. The arboretum’s Cherry Collection features over 100 cherry blossom trees that bloom in varying shades of pink and white.  (And so close to Bernardsville and Basking Ridge!)

Duke Farms, Hillsborough
Duke Farms (as in the famous Doris Duke name) is an expansive 2,700-acre estate that boasts a wide range of flora and fauna. One of the estate’s most notable features is its exquisite collection of flowering cherry trees, including the renowned Japanese Sakura cherry variety. Visitors can marvel at the breathtaking beauty of these cherry trees as they explore the vast grounds of the estate. (And what an estate!)

Reeves-Reed Arboretum, Summit
This 13.5-acre arboretum has a variety of cherry blossom trees, as well as other flowering trees and shrubs. In addition to a delightful cherry blossom grove, the features strolling paths.  Beautiful!   (and for that special touch- the Arboretum offers lovely English tea on Wednesdays in the Tea House!)

Movern Gardens, Princeton
Take a leisurely stroll through the blooming cherry blossom trees and explore the magnificent grounds of this historic estate. Don’t miss out on the chance to visit the museum and learn about New Jersey’s fascinating past. With so much to see and do, Morven Museum and Garden is the perfect destination for a “pink” springtime with added adventures. And it is wonderful during the Christmas season, as well!  Visit our Governor’s Mansion and be impressed!

Hacklebarney State Park, Long Valley
Hacklebarney State Park is a state park of the U.S. state of New Jersey, located between Long Valley and Chester. The park features several walking trails that wind through a serene woodland and along the banks of the Black River. Along these trails, visitors can spot cherry blossom trees in bloom, adding a pop of pink and white amidst the lush greenery.  If you are lunching in Tewkesbury, at the Tewkesbury Inn, this is perfect!  Think Pink!  And select a “Pink Lady” cocktail to join in the festivities of Spring!
