What is Biophilia?

Best described, this relates to how we interact and connect with our environment  The most important thing for my clients is to have both beauty and functionality that defines a healthy environment in their home.  That sense of overall well-being.  So, what constitutes wellness?

The answer seems to lie in back-to-nature designs.  Soft, natural fabrics, a pale, soothing color pallet, organic shapes, plants with foliage.  Also, a trend in outdoor living rooms. This innate human instinct to connect with nature is having renewed interest where the safest place to be is in the home.  Creating your very own sanctuary.

How do we achieve this wellness vibe?  People need to have their individual dedicated space.  Whether it is an outdoor garden chair for reading or a space with a door that closes.  A visual experience where the furniture is arranged with a focal point that overlooks a yard or garden.  Patterns can be used to re-create tree branches above by repeating light fixtures.  Patterns and natural colors can evoke that sense of calm.

How your home environment affects your health is something to consider.   Surrounding yourself with plants, natural sunlight, organic shapes, and water will create your sensory experience- your own sanctuary.

Need more inspiration?  Please let me know how I can help you achieve your own wellness space.
